The Ayes Have It

My Living Spirit poll drew the biggest response of any poll I've run. 31 voted that she was the most over-valued mare they'd ever seen sold, 19 voted that it was a sure sign the world's gone mad, and 7 Darley employees voted that she was cheap at twice the price.

Well, Living Spirit didn't hold that record for long, Steve.

She Will Be Loved blew her, and any other competition, out of the water this past week.

$2.4 million seems ludicrous but at least she had a Redoute's Choice colt on board and not something by Nadeem. Shows what happens when just a mere $700 million man gets tangled up in a staring contest with a multi- billionairess. She Will Be Loved was bought for well under a million last year (NOT the price reported from the '07 Inglis sale - "lies, damn lies and statistics") and for the addition of $300k in service fee they make well over a million profit. And the page was basically the same bar one new remotely-related stakeswinner under the 2nd dam.
